Sandra C. Mann was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1980. She lived in base housing on Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station. Her dad was in the United States Marine Corps which forced her to move back and forth between Hawaii and California. In March of 1984 her family settled down in Orange County. In the summer of 1985 her parents bought a house and moved to Riverside.
Sandra was in choir in middle school and in high school was on Color guard for the Ramona High School Dynasty Marching Band and Color guard. She was on flags her freshman year, then on rifles her sophomore year. Also during her sophomore year she was targeted by a group of kids who thought less of her, they taunted her, and put her in the middle of their vicious rumors. This was when Sandra decided it was better to be by herself than have friends, and started writing poetry and short stories about her life, what she went through being bullied, and her emotions.
She graduated from high school and holds an Associate in Science, Multimedia; Associate in Arts, Humanities; and a Certificate of Achievement in Multimedia from Mt. San Jacinto College.
Sandra is international known for her poetry, and was requisitioned by Noble House. She has been published in five anthologies; “Timeless Voices” (Twice), “The International Who’s Who in Poetry”, “Best Poems and Poets of 2007” (set to be published in Fall 2008), and the fifth is currently in publication; the title has not be released yet. Her poetry has also won many awards. She won the Editors Choice Award for her poem “Love” in 2006. In early 2007 she won the Editors Choice Award for her poem “Float On”; and then in late 2007 she won another Editors Choice Award for her poem “Addicted”. She also won the Poet Fellowship Award from Noble House in 2007 for her poetry.
Sandra currently lives in Southern California with her husband, who is also a published poet and her son. Sandra continues to write poetry and short stories, her poetry continues to be published. Sandra was recently given the honor of being the 2008 National Poetry Month Ambassador.
