I think that is a really personal decision.
As far as modeling goes, Iwanted to do a lot of art erotica modeling and some artists that wanted to photograph/paint me were concerned about my tattoos. When they saw that they were black and gray and artistic looking they felt that they did not take away or distract form my form. Then some models get all tatted up and some photographers love that. It can make you very unique and special...so no matter what, you will continure to have particuliar people continue to appreciate you and your body.
Just do what you please.
