Snoop Dogg - Ego Trippin'
Keepin' It Real! Gloom Album Review, By Jamie Bradley
March 31, 2008

The international man of hip-hop and big beats needs no introduction. Snoop Dogg is back in a big way with his new album Ego Trippin'. Over a decade and a half he has manufactured quite a career for himself by being known for his use of marijuana, big album sales, and more recently becoming a movie and TV star. Snoop has not strayed away from his roots by sticking to what he knows best when making music. He stills has all the goodies in one bag with his commitment to girls, drugs, and the gangster lifestyle.

Ego Trippin' does not disappoint in the new age of hip-hop which includes new and funky sounds that are very creative. It has some tracks that are ready for the radio scene and a number of other songs that have that distinctive Snoop Dogg feel about them. The album has over 20 songs, which makes it a great deal for the price, but the songs definitely become less flavorful as they progress. Snoop takes on a nostalgic sense in "Can't Say Goodbye" by bluntly saying: "You can't take the hood out of the homeboy".
