yup, it was on the 9am news here(9.22am now as i type this).

a google search of his name in news brings up alot of news sites. although u can't believe them all. but NYC police have confirmed it.

i just hope his turn as the Joker is a worthy role to remember him by.

from wat his fellow cast mates were/are saying it seems as if he nailed the part. i heard he scared Micheal Caine in a few scenes.

I love Heath Ledger!!!

He was the "one actor you wish you could sleep with/marry" for me.

I loved him in all of his movies, and I hate that this is real!

I was saddened by this news. I enjoyed brokeback mountain too, it was a fantastic movie. If people could get past the gay thing they'd be in for one heck of a treat.

Well treat isn't the right word to use since the movie isn't really all that happy.

Re:R.I.P. Heath Ledger 2008/01/27 21:50
well as they say, "only the good die young."

it's so sad he died at such a young age, but honestly i think it could have been worse. think about it: he died at the top of his game, he already made his role as the joker legendary before the movie even came out, he didn't have the opportunity to lose his good looks, fizzle out, or make crappy movies as he grew older, they ruled out suicide (so even if he was stressed at least he wasn't so depressed he felt like he should end his life), and people are already comparing him to james dean.

believe me, i'm NOT saying it was a good thing that he died, i'm just saying that if it was his time, it could have been alot worse for him, his fans, and his career.

RIP heath ledger, you will be sorely missed!
