yeah he is more interested in meeting with the dogs, although we have had a few situations....


Alex bit me the other day, because I had to transfer him out from under my parents bed, and then walk him in my arms to the other side of the house where my room is, and well he heard the dogs collars making noise even though my mom was holding them and he freaked out and made some angry cat yelling noises and bit my finger, so I have 5 little cat sized teeth holes in my finger....it hurt...

but he and I both recovered....and today Jack had an interesting encounter with both dogs, and he hissed and spat as the dogs came towards him with barks and wagging tails and slobbery jaws...but neither dog nor cat were harmed in the attempt of today.


we are slowly progressing to the point where I can leave my bedroom door open....and allow the cats to roam as far as their curiosity allows them knowing the dogs are not too far away, as well as the dogs keeping their excitment on a small level, knowing the cats are a bite away.


Its fun.
but it will take time until they can be friends, if at all.

Aww but thats super cute that there's progress. Just make sure the doggies dont come in your room and eat the cat shit.

hahah well we got a new litter box, thats covered except for a front space for entry, and its in my closet...

so I dont think either one would fit their head in to eat any, musless enter the room at all....they know they aren't allowed in my room, even if the door is open, they dare not enter, unless they are invited.

and my three goldfish, shenzi, banzai and ed. :3

queen bee, try getting a baby gate for your bedroom doorway. it will keep your dogs out, give your cats a safe place, and allow them to smell and get used to each other without interacting physically.

otherwise i say you just throw them in together, and then discipline accordingly. it's gonna have to happen one day!

when we got eppie, we had two cats that were very lazy, so she didn't understand that she couldn't mess with all cats the way she did with them. we took her to a friend's house, and i held her and shoved her in his cat's face, resulting in a scratch across eppie's nose. it sounds like a harsh thing to do to both of them, but she learned quickly that some cats shouldn't be bullied, and of course her nose healed up well. she's been very respectful of cats ever since.
