Gloom Magazine's 1st Contest: Gloom Nation Show Yourself
We are looking for Creative, Sexy, Quality self portraits. Quality matters in this contest because one of the prizes is publication in the first print issue of Gloom Magazine! Gloom Magazine is an alternative lifestyle magazine to be distributed world wide. Models, photographers, bands, and anyone else who wants to be seen remember this is an excellent opportunity for exposure you will be seen by over hundreds of thousands of people!
SELF PORTRAITS ONLY! The number one thing to remember is BE CREATIVE and sex appeal helps. Guys, girls, trannies, groups, bands... everyone is welcome. You, the photographer must be in the picture. We like sexy, but this contest is going to be viewed by people of all ages so no nudity, meaning no private parts.

when is the due date for entry?

The contest does not have an ending date at the moment. The site is growing fast and we are working to keep it running properly more than anticipated. Once certain issues are resolved we will have a better idea of when the first printed issue will come out and that will dictate the closing date for the contest. We will have a photo release with more details up soon. The photo release will have to be signed by all finalists. Anyone wishing to post a picture can do so knowing that they will have to give us rights to publish the picture if they are a finalist. The finalists have to be 18 or have a parent or guardian fill out the form. We will have more details regarding the contest soon.

I reduced the digital noise as much as possible on my comp, but I think it adds to the vintage feel of the picture.

i can see the vintage approach, it looks very gothic-vampiry-esque, i t's cool~! :}


amelia, how many photos are allowed per entry~?

you can enter as many times as you want or do you mean a series? We want lots of member participation.

Aside from the rule that the photo can only be taken by yourself... what are the other rules? When does it start? Where do submissions go? Who chooses the winner? When is the entry deadline?

Post your picture here in the community and the rules are more about us having the rights to print the winning pictures in the magazine. The tentative deadline is in March. There will be a panel of judges including the Gloom Staff.We are still looking for sponsors and we will keep you updated.

My first entry, I shall play a bit more when the mood takes me.

Caught the light from my bedroom window this afternoon and had to use it.

yay!! i love self portraits... my avatar is a self portrait... i can't wait to submit something!!

One quick question. by Self portrait do you mean a picture taken by someone of you, or do you mean doing it yourself using a tripod and timer? The latter's gonna be a bitch to do!! LoL
